Can I use Mapping and Setting Zones from the first time I use the robot?
Your Dirt Devil Robot needs to learn the layout of your home and it may take more than one auto-cleaning run to fully map it. Depending on the size of your house, it could take 5-6 mapping runs or more.
How can I tell if my robot is still mapping my home?
On the first run, the robot will scan a whole room or two and will create a blue map in the Current Map setting. Next, it will represent the map in orange after additional mapping runs. The robot will then sweep along the edges of rooms and create a “Z” path or zig-zag pattern within mapped rooms.
What do I do if the entire house is still not mapped after several runs or if I have a two-story house?
To add another room or level of your home, manually place the robot in the new unmapped territory. The robot will recognize it has not mapped the space and adds it to a new map.
What happens if the mapping process is disrupted before the whole house is fully mapped?
You can delete the current map and start a new one in the Map Setting menu, tap the upper right Delete symbol to reset the current map. You will be prompted to cancel or confirm this operation.
Why does the map change colors on the app screen after initial use?
After scanning an entire room for the first time, the map will appear in blue. After a few more initial runs, the map will show separate rooms and turn orange. After sweeping the edges of walls and creating the “Z” path marks, the map will show different shades of colors to help customize Room or Zone Cleaning.
How do I know when the map is complete and saved?
In Map Settings, you can tap the Save icon at the top of the screen after initial runs. The robot must finish navigating the entire house before a complete map is saved in the Current Map setting. If dissatisfied with the map, or if disrupted, you can delete the Current map and start again.
How do I select a different suction power?
From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom and reveal the settings for Auto Cleaning or Room Cleaning and select from 4 suction levels.
Can I use the App on my mobile device as a remote control?
Yes, go to the More Controls menu located at the upper right corner of the Home Screen. Select Remote Control Mode. Use your fingertip to control up, down, left, and right directions, and Play/Pause. Return to Home Screen.
What is Auto Boost used for?
When activated, the robot will automatically increase suction power when the robot encounters a carpet.
How do I select a specific room to clean?
After the robot completes the mapping process, the map will be saved automatically showing boundaries for a room or more than one room. At this point you can use Room Cleaning by swiping up on the Home Screen to reveal the option. You can also use the mapping menu for additional customization and the scheduling feature to select a specific room.
How do I schedule a cleaning?
In the More Controls menu at the top right, select Schedule, then Add Schedule. Next, determine the day(s) and time (s) and apply to Auto Cleaning or Room. Be mindful that the time is represented in military/24-hour selections. You can also select suction power mode.
Where do I find my most current map?
Tap Map Settings lower right on the Home Screen. The most updated map will auto-save and appear on the first screen with options to customize and set zones and no-go zones.
Can I schedule the robot to run more than one time in a specific zone?
You can select between one run and two runs for each zone you define in your home.
How do I create Zones and No-Go Zones?
Tap the Map Settings in the lower right of the Home Screen, then No-Go Zone. Use the square or line icons to define areas accordingly. Tap either one to overlay on any area of the current map. Use fingertips to drag and adjust size and shape or use simple lines to draw virtual boundaries.
Can I select a specific room, more than 1 room or part of a room for cleaning?
In Map Settings you can select Edit room to Merge, Divide, and Name your completely-mapped rooms. Then swipe up on the Home Screen to select Room Cleaning. Your named rooms will be listed for you to select and customize.
Does the app keep a history of cleaning schedules?
In the More Controls menu, select Cleaning History to see a record of cleaning runs from a schedule you created or from Auto Cleaning. The robot vacuum has to complete navigation and mapping of the whole floorplan before saving a record of cleaning sessions.
How do I keep the robot from leaving the dock in the middle of the night to resume cleaning?
In the More Controls menu in the upper right on the Home Screen, select Robot Settings. Then select the Do Not Disturb Mode. The robot will not resume or perform any unfinished cleaning and will not broadcast audio alerts when DND is activated.
Is there any way to tell what went wrong if my robot stops during a cleaning session or does not follow a schedule I set?
Messages and notifications can be found in the General Profile Settings by tapping the bars in the upper left on the Home Screen. The most common reasons for disruptions or setting errors can be found under “Message” if automatically prompted by a behavior of the robot.
