-
Why does the robot return to the charging dock before it completes the job?During initial use, the robot needs to learn room layouts and may do shorter runs as it maps the entire home. -
Can I use Mapping and Setting Zones from the first time I use the robot?Your Dirt Devil Robot needs to learn the layout of your home and it may take more than one auto-cleaning run to complete the map. Depending on the size of your house, it could take 5-6 mapping runs or more.
-
Is it normal for the robot to randomly roam a room or two and then return to its dock?Yes. The first few runs on a full charge need to get to know your home’s layout. It does not need to reach every square foot of a room or multiple rooms initially but will continue to build the map as it explores and scans the entire house.
-
Why does the robot miss some areas while cleaning?Check to see if any doors are closed or partially closed and if there are too many items or obstacles in a room. Pick up small items and re-map rooms if areas were blocked by pets or people in a previous mapping run. Allow a minimum of 20” pathways for cleaning.
-
Why does my robot have trouble crossing the threshold of one room to another? The sill or strip may be too high for the robot to cross over or a variance between flooring and carpeting is difficult for the robot to transition. Move the robot over it to continue cleaning.
-
What happens to the mapping process if I turn off the robot main switch during a cleaning session? If the robot is turned off manually during cleaning, the data will not be saved. Turn on the main switch and allow the robot to create a new map when fully charged.
-
Is it okay to turn off the main switch on the robot if I am going on vacation or do not plan to use the robot for a period of time?It is recommended to power off the robot when not in use for an extended period of time. For shorter periods of inactivity, the robot vacuum will automatically switch to SLEEP mode.
-
How long will the robot run on a single charge? This depends on the variables of suction mode and floor surface and it differs for hard flooring and carpets. On average it can run 60-90 minutes.
-
How do I do spot cleaning and not the whole house?Move the robot off the charging dock and place it in the area you want to spot clean. Press the power button 2X to clean an area of 5’ x 5’ (1.5M x 1.5M). When complete, the robot will automatically return to the dock.
-
What do I do if the robot stops away from the charging dock or gets stuck?Manually return it to the charging dock to recharge. Pick up obstacles before the next cleaning run.
-
Can I change the location of the charging dock?Do not change the location during an active cleaning session or the robot will not know where to return to when the battery runs low. If you relocate the charging dock, the robot will learn the new location and create a new map. You can also delete the Current Map and start a new one.
-
How often do I have to replace any parts of the robot? In More Settings, tap Maintenance to see the percentage of use on serviceable parts and the life expectation. In general, expect to replace the filter, side brush, and brush roller every 3-6 months.
